PRESIDENT - DR. CRAIG S. STERN

RPh, PharmD, MBA, FASCP, FASHP, FICA, FLMI, FAMCP
Dr. Stern holds a Doctor of Pharmacy, a Masters in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts all from the University of Southern California (USC). He is a Fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, the American Society Consultant Pharmacists, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, the International College of Angiology, and the Life Management Institute.

Dr. Stern received his Bachelors degree with a major in Astronomy and Physics, and subsequently worked in cancer research in the Cancer Research Project at the USC School of Medicine.

Dr. Stern is a Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Southern California, the University of California at San Francisco, and the Western University of Health Science. Previously, he has been an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of California at Los Angeles, and a Research Associate in the Department of Cardiology of the Wadsworth Veterans Administration in Los Angeles, in addition to continuing affiliations with multiple universities, teaching Health Care, Managed Care, Clinical Therapeutics, and business courses.

Early in his pharmacy career, Dr. Stern was a Director of Pharmacy and internal consultant on pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy programming for Republic Health Corporation. He also consulted to integrated health systems and major multi-hospital corporations in the areas of pharmacy operations and productivity enhancement.

In 1986 Dr. Stern formed Pro Pharma Pharmaceutical Consultants, Inc. as independent consultants to multi-hospital corporations, payers, and providers with special emphasis in Managed Care. The practice focuses on the Design and Management of Pharmacy Benefits, Integration of Pharmacy and Medical Benefits, Data Analysis, Strategic Analysis/Planning and Implementation, and the Management of Pharmacy Risk for Provider Groups. Pro Pharma's clients include small to medium size Health Maintenance Organizations, Physician Groups, Self-Insured employers, Taft-Hartley Trusts, Insurance Companies, and International Benefits Consulting firms.

Dr. Stern is the author of over eighty papers, textbook chapters, multiple abstracts and poster sessions, and is a nationally known speaker in the areas of Clinical Therapeutics, Managed Care, Healthcare Industry Trends, and Strategic Analysis. He is Immediate Past Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy (JMCP), a prior Director on the Board of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), and the current Chair of the California Pharmacy Association Editorial Review Committee for their journal the California Pharmacist.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - MS. CAROL J. STERN

RN, BSN, MBA
For over twenty-five years, Ms. Stern has consulted in the areas of Marketing of Services, Human Resource Management/Development, Strategic Planning/Development and Team Building. She has been involved in Nursing, Acute Care, and Managed Care Administration for the past twenty-seven years. As CEO of Pro Pharma, her work for the past thirteen years has focused on Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO's), Physician Provider Groups, Self-insured Companies, Insurance Companies, International Benefits Consulting Firms, and National and Local Professional Organizations.

Ms. Carol Stern holds a Masters in Business Administration (with an emphasis in Strategic Planning/Implementation and Marketing) from the University of Southern California (USC), and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

Ms. Stern is Part Time Faculty for the Health and Human Services Department at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and University of Phoenix (UOP) in Leadership, Business Strategy and Development, Communications and Marketing.

For over twenty-five years, Ms. Stern has consulted in the areas of Marketing of Services, Human Resource Management/Development, Strategic Planning / Development and Team Building. Ms. Stern currently serves as Chair for the Greater San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles Area Nursing Resource Coalition which is a collaborative effort by service, academia and the community to strategize for the future of Nursing and Health Care Professionals in healthcare, and implement a marketing strategy with the California Strategic Planning Committee on Nursing (CSPCN). In addition, she is the immediate past Secretary / Treasurer of the Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL).

Ms. Stern is a nationally known speaker in the areas of Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Conflict Resolution/Communications. She has authored a book and articles, and has presented in numerous poster sessions for professional organizations, both locally and nationally.
